I helped people cheat because it paid better than working fast food. I never took an exam, but I did a lot of assignments. I kinda felt bad for some of the students who were taught Java for a couple semesters and then thrown into C for an o

If a candidate can google the problem, understand it, and then learn how to write a simple variation of it they have demonstrated all the skills necessary to be a useful coder at an awful lot of companies. I'd kinda prefer them to lear

Debugging, like most things in clojure, is a library. You can view the implementation (as an nREPL middleware) here[1]. It's possible to use this debug middleware from any random nrepl client, but I'm not aware of any that actuall

I haven't seen it. I don't find myself using atoms very much and when I am using atoms, it's almost always because I'm trying to use doseq when a more functional version of my code exists if I would think about it.

This has to be the most possible thing I've ever seen labeled impossible. Lisp 1.5 has extensive documentation and we have program listings to test against. Nothing else is really needed. Edit: This joke flew way over my head. [1] [1]

Yes, it was an eMachines. I think the promo we were on was for Prodigy dialup and was like $29.99/month for 3 years. If you agreed to that, you could get a $400? instant rebate at Best Buy/Circuit City/etc on any random PC. T

The first six months or so that I used Linux (1998), I only had a winmodem for my parent's cheap tower (333Mhz Celeron I think; the kind you got for free if you signed a 3 year dialup contract). I taught myself to program based on exam
