From my experience, even though we deploy with Kubernetes, they complement eachother just fine. When writing code, I can easily partition things into processes, which makes total sense from pure application development viewpoint. Whether Ku

Similar experience. I used Docker rootless for a while 1-2 years ago. There were hiccups and upgrading was a pain, so I stopped using it. It's possible it has improved, though.

It is a strategy. If you sell your house and invest the proceeds into the stock market, DCA says you shouldn't just do one huge buy order, but you should spread your orders out over a longer timeline. It's two different strategies

True. You can skip the line here actually by paying for your doctor visit, but that also means you have to pay out of pocket for any further actions based on your diagnosis.

Interesting. Elixir builds are the fastest builds in my CI pipelines. I make sure to cache the builds/ folder; usually only a small amount of files need to be re-compiled, which is very fast. This was actually improved even further in

An issue for us is that we need to provide outside users access to support tickets. Gitlab has Service Desk, but it's useful only if it's just your engineering team looking at the issues. Service Desk issues often need attention f

I have not claimed that HTML is the bottleneck. I have claimed that we are using it for things it was not meant for, creating major inefficiencies. Can we agree that modern web-based UIs can often be slow or just CPU-intensive? If so, then

To clarify: I am emphasizing the fact that HTML is not suitable for what we are using it for today. It is used in applications that don't have anything to do with the web, but is taken into use purely because it has good tooling around

The technical reasonings don't matter. It is a reflection of the failure on the part of software engineers, product managers and standards bodies. We are using a document markup language to create interactive UIs. Which, for some crazy

At the core of this issue is reproducibility. If you can fully reproduce the software you use, you no longer need to trust that X binary/container was built properly (although you still need to trust the source code itself, as well as

Agreed. Delivery drivers don't take a percentage from every sale you make. They charge for the service. App stores should charge for their service. They aren't making the sales (at least in most cases). They are delivering assets.

I actually started building this exact product earlier this year. Then I realized I won't have the funds to hire people to actually do these audits. So I stopped. Maybe this could be a community effort.
