Hierarchy is everywhere, for this same reason I've found hierarchical note taking tools to be the most effective by far. No matter what you're doing, no matter how complex, it can be broken down into manageable pieces and executed

There are cases where a major change to a software project caused a handful of minor regressions but added new functionality, vastly improved performance in the majority of cases, etc. In these cases, a Zero Regressions policy is a bit sill

Exactly. I ditched one of these save-the-world projects recently because they did little but talk about fundraising and how to distribute their buttload of tokens to each other.

That's an interesting angle to look at this from. It may be less about age as a number, and more about how the generations are perceiving each other. I'm 36 and haven't even felt the beginning creep of age discrimination. I&#

When everyone is screaming how much Trump is literally making the sky fall 24/7 on all media and water coolers, none of the legitimate problems pack any sort of punch. Nothing causes panic because panic is the new baseline.

Good. That's sorta the whole point. Not everything should be globalised and ripped apart from any private context. Frankly this is a lesson we collectively need to learn IMO. I get that nothing can anymore completely accomplish a total

Part of the calm relaxing feeling many of us get being out in nature may be the comfort of knowing that we completely dominate the entire environment. Contrast with the often hyper competitive social/city environment.

I feel that Rust is something of a religion at this point. Curious how many downvotes I might accrue for expressing that perspective. Might be wrong, but my sense has been that challenges with Rust are written off in an off-hand way and its

Since startup time is important, why don't browsers just stay running but pause all threads? The memory consumption of a browser process without any tabs open is insignificant for the vast majority of users.

I had a similar project idea for ages. Instead of LLVM it would static recompile into C macros or C++ inline function calls for each opcode. Then it would compile the output and run the game. Emulation is just plain fun.
