Who remembers a few years back when Adobe Air was first making waves and Mozilla introduced Prism and Adobe's pr team hit the web to discredit it? Good times Anyway, we've developed an internal app at my job targeting webkit on os x and w

It was extremely slow on my 8 core xeon Mac pro with ten gigs of ram. I got to see a little of the ui up close and it wasn't pretty to me at all. Maybe the whole package will look good together, but the individual components didn't look too

I'm a "techie," the kind that dabbles in various areas of software development and I'd choose an Apple computer before any other to do my dabbling with.

I've always said that it is the best piece of software ever created :) Does the ios version browse your local network for shares? If it does, it will be the best ios software ever created.

It looks like they are only using a small portion of it -- selectors in init and a few event handlers. They could use one of the many pre-existing selector engines and write a simple cross-browser addEvent function

My point is that the cost to support Opera isnt as high, or in A LOT of case, adds nothing, to the effort needed to get to a final product.

    by emehrkay 16y ago

Kinda a bad analogy as Opera is pretty much on par with Webkit/Gekko. Sure it basically shares the same JS-based quirks as IE, but it has a much more robust and usable error console so I welcome it.

She made no mention of chipping in for gas or the up-keep of the vehicle. Sounds like she enjoys the pleasures of a "free ride" as much as the kids enjoyed handing them out.

Best thing about "No Free Lemonade" is that she yelled from the backseat of the car to the kids about fiscal responsibility. She was being fucking chauffeured.

So are you saying that talent is when a person has passion for a subject and works hard at it?
25. 925.▲
    by emehrkay 16y ago

I feel that things could be broken down so that anyone could understand. Those scenes in movies where the teacher finally breaks through to the kids by relating the subject matter to something that they care about may seem like bs, but I fe

Ha, it had something to do with drawing a 3d rectangle and erasing the inner lines, adding some ovals on the front face of it. Then drawing a straight line at the top of the oval as the top of the light cover and then drawing a skewed omega

I've been making this argument for years, its funny how many people just flat out dont agree with it. My stance is that there is no talent, just understanding and without physical limitations, anything could be understood by anyone. I first
