Sure, and I'm not saying that it does, but it may also be one possible solution. Not necessarily the best but probably better than what we currently have.

I think I'd have to argue that real estate has existed for much, much longer than a few decades :D I'm a pretty big sceptic on all of this crypto BS, but the ownership of real estate assets seems like a pretty archaic system of no

Page consists of an example (useful) and slides (not). Might look again once there's some useful content; slides aren't _quite_ as bad as a video, but it's pretty awful. Edit: ah, the get started links to real content. Miss

What's the reasoning behind the headless chrome inclusion? It seems a very niche thing to build in.

I loved the classes at first, but as I've got more in to it I've found that classes and prototypes are redundant. Closures let me maintain all of the state that I need without the extra boilerplate.

Literally stated, but sort of missing the point. Paraphrased: there's no risk, except that you lose all of your money (because your coins are now worthless).

Technically possible, but sadly prohibited by their T&Cs[1]. It's a bit annoying, if they wanted to charge per impression they should charge by impression rather than having per-api-call pricing but forcing you to call the API rep

Many do, but not all, and even then just wildcarding the common bits would leave it pretty much wide open. Maybe if they allowed regular expressions then it could be targeted reasonably closely, or if there was an API I could use to genera

Larger size (and higher resolution) static images are currently only available to paid up "premium" map subscribers; presumably this functionality will now become available to everyone, as we'll all have to be paid users (eve

It seems like sticking a CDN in front of the static map API could be used to reduce costs quite a bit there as well, especially if you forced it to cache more aggressively than the cache control headers returned by Google indicate. Has any

I have a project which runs a variety of sites for our network - currently ~900 different domains. Restricting keys by domain name is not really practical for us.

I'll have a look, thanks. Your pricing looks much more reasonable - I suspect you're going to be seeing a large spike in demand. Initial work on reducing load looks very promising though (lazy loading only when users scroll as fa

Levy solid capital gains taxes retrospectively, use that money to compensate recent buyers. Those that made a killing are still ahead (although less so), those that made losses are compensated.

Interesting article, but more an argument for why a large class of cryptocoins might be valuable, or even more so, why an ecosystem of cryptocoins might collectively value, rather than an argument for why Bitcoin specifically is valuable.

NZ doesn't have a real, single constitution, more a collection of case law[1]. I'd argue that if a person can no longer reasonably expect to buy a house in their own country then they're being deprived of their rights and tha

Yeah, that's a fair enough approach. I don't necessarily want to increase the overall tax burden, just distribute it more fairly. Ideally the policy mix should put such downward pressure on prices that people end up paying very

> Increases taxes to "lower" the price doesn't lower the total cost of ownership, it just hides it by reducing the potential gains (which are _priced into_ the sale price). That is true, but you're missing the point.

Depends on your definitions I guess; I call Auckland's 1-2 story sprawl low, I don't call Paris' 5 story sprawl low. Aucklanders seem to generally be against even Paris levels of density.

The average price of property grows due to the additional demand from speculators, foreign and local, pushing up the price that C has to pay for any other property as well. It's not that complicated. The primary purpose of housing is
