I go weeks without using cash, although visiting Sydney recently it seemed I was surcharged more often than not for using a credit card - not the case in Melbourne where it's still very uncommon.

More than I would have expected. The report is long; was there a breakdown provided of the reasons for this exclusion? I assume that some proportion is voluntary and I wonder how much (and what the other reasons are).

I did wonder what the coverage on the mainland was like. No coverage seemed like the most likely outcome.

I guess because Safari is relatively unimportant in terms of market share. Not totally unimportant, but not quite the same league.

I work 4x10 and keep a timesheet; any time I work over I take back at some point in time. Planning on decreasing the hours slightly soon, drop back to 38 or whatever the norm is here in Australia. I don't find that 10 hours fatigues me

Whether you're affected or not it's still not "densely populated". The GP isn't saying it somehow doesn't matter, just that thankfully fewer people will be negatively impacted by it.

Why? Genuinely curious. Couldn't care less if people near me eat at their desks.

Can confirm. Have encountered more magpies than cassowaries and have been attacked by more magpies than cassowaries. Not much of a pain, but if you're on a bike on a busy road it's somewhat more threatening...

I saw a pair up close in a parking lot near some sight in the Daintree, north of Cairns. Knowing what they were I immediately retreated, but a lot of people crowded in taking photos... This pair just walked past the cars and back out the

OK, some fair points, with caveats. I think that property growth matching the general rate of inflation inevitably tends towards unaffordability because of the high base cost and that's why I don't entirely agree with your argume

I think GP meant letting (although that would have the same effect).

The rest of the article explains it more detail, but the sentence is obviously correct. Stocks and bonds remain "affordable" because the minimum purchase size is small; the same cannot be said for housing.

The most flow chart seems to cover MV3 and potential outcomes pretty well. It (Brexit) is a hell of a mess, I have no idea how you guys are going to get out of this one.

Ah, that would make more sense, although it's an odd way to phrase it. Surely the first is an hourly wage and the second is (presumably) the annual wage. I assumed OP was talking about income from other sources than your primary emplo

For most people wages are all or almost all of their earnings, so I'm not sure that the distinction is meaningful. Regardless, links?

Yeah, I have tweaked the settings on them before; they generally have a sort of palm detection that prevents them from misfiring which works pretty well for me - only in one case have I ever had to adjust a laptop for that.

Figuring out how to disable that damn thing was my top priority when I had a thinkpad. Maybe I should have stuck with it, but it was just an annoying thing that was impossible to control and easily knocked to where I didn't want it to

Sadly (in this case) blacktip reef sharks are "Timid and skittish, the blacktip reef shark is difficult to approach and seldom poses a danger to humans unless roused by food."[1]. Happily that means you can swim near them safely,

Pet peeve: using `let` when you could use `const`. I've been conditioned to read `let` as a statement of intent to mutate that variable and it irks me when they then... don't.
