Serious question: why don’t you move? I don’t mean it as thinly veiled criticism, I am genuinely interested in the answer.

They probably won't... Links between satellites will use a different routing scheme. Traditional network protocols will "disappear" at the sending ground station, only to "reappear" on the receiving one. A video lin

Their approach of strapping a booster to a plane always seemed misguided to me. If the first step in designing a new rocket is to also design a new airplane, and the largest in the world at that, then I think you are throwing money and engi

The amount of processing that those computers do won’t increase over time, it stays the same. So why use something you won’t need? Also, planes are extremely expensive so they don’t get thrown away, they get constant upgrades. The U2 spy pl

That was clearly tongue-in-cheek. No need to rail against the author. Lay down the outrage pitchforks man.

Your two paragraphs are contradictory. If someone can learn to solve just DP problems by practicing in leetcode then DP is a useless metric or proxy of someone’s ability to reason mathematically. You should have said “the ability to solve D

Funny, I just went through a pre-screen assessment for one of the big ones and it was not one but _two_ DP problems. I could have probably come up with a slow solution using recursion and a bit more of time, but was given only 90 minutes. A

The flight software team did a reddit AMA a while back [0]. They use C++ for writing the flight software (what flies falcon, dragon, etc) running on a customized RT Linux. [0] https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments

I never said they would be running a vanilla distro though. I said "custom" for that reason.

According to the SpaceX flight software team neither Falcon or Dragon run VxWorks, they run a custom Linux (see [0]). [0] https://space.stackexchange.com/questions/9243/what-computer...

FYI lock-free programming does not mean "free of locks" but rather "free of lockups", as in, there isn't any possible arrangement in which two threads could end up blocking each other indefinitely (as could happen w
