City of God (Cicade de Deus) is a great movie about this, too.

I like it. It reminds me of something like System Shock (2 is the one I played), where you learn about what happened on this ship before it was overrun by mutants from journals and such. Instead of a book, this may work well as a game of so

Can you explain what you mean by this? I can't find mention of its implications to electricity.

Could a design such as this work in the real-world, for a real train? It seems to me that this could be feasible, since the power source is on the "car" itself, and the coil (infrastructure) wouldn't be that expensive to buil

Try Navicat ( http://navicat.com – looks like they even have a Cyber Monday sale right now). Been using it for a couple of years now, and it's great (also "feels native", which is a must for me). There are many edi

I thought everyone used i and j? No seriously, my first language was VB 6 (or 5?), so I'm not remotely old-school.

Very nice and seamless UI! I hope to use this sometime soon. Like other mention, closer repo access would be awesome (I suppose you'll have to authenticate with GitHub for that?). Support for BitBucket would be nice, as well.

Did you read the article? They are already working on supporting other platforms. It IS a "public beta", like you said.

Can you provide any more information on what you are working on? I, too, am interested in this problem, so it would be great to see any attempts at a solution. Email is in my profile, if you'd rather not share here.

This helps with routine tasks like CRM, time tracking, and invoicing. I doubt many companies have their competitive advantage in these domains! Like you say, it's an alternative to ad-hoc workflows using spreadsheets, etc. and it looks

This certainly rings true for me. I've got a 4S. I must say, I've never experienced the problem before upgrading to iOS 7, but I don't think it started happening immediately after upgrading, either... Could cold weather have

Strange, I only see 2.1.0-dev and 2.1.0-preview1, even after I do this... Any tips? EDIT: rbenv-update'='(cd ~/.rbenv/plugins/ruby-build && git pull) did the trick.

Well, I liked your comment, and didn't get what you were talking about with the rankban until I read your username. That "rankban" you mention, that's a pretty shitty thing to have in a forum that is supposed to be about

I'd generalize this to (continental) Europeans, and it becomes more true the further East you go. Being in Poland, I notice the same thing. However, I did notice that New Yorkers are also closer to the "Russian" camp. Not tot

Looks to me like it works pretty much just like Squarespace (except self-hosted and open). The way Squarespace makes it easy for non-web-designer folk to put together nice-looking websites is excellent, so it's a good model to work fro

God-damnit. When I was an intern (I want to say 2009 or 2010), all I got was a Zune at the end of its lifecycle… It had a nice engraving, but still.

That's not really true. Look at "grinding" in MMOs. I don't think people enjoy the process of grinding, just the end result (some virtual coins or whatever). It's really a Pavlovian brain hack.

This looks awesome! One pet peeve: when I scroll all the way down and click "next", it should automatically scroll me back to the top, so I don't have to do it myself. Too many single-page apps make this mistake!

Basic ad-hominem attack. You did nothing to address the content of the article. The article's main point has a lot of merit, IMO.

Interesting analysis, but yup, that's what tests are for! If you've got a sporadically failing test somewhere, that's probably sign of a bug.
