Exactly, I'm a back-end engineer and I vibe-coded that in a couple of hours: https://erwan.github.io/sovereign-cards-database/ I could have learn all the frameworks to make it, but honestly I wouldn't have bo

It also doesn't owe your CEO billions for hovering over a company where other people (like you) do the actual value creation.

I suspect some devs don't want AI to succeed - and it's understandable, as it will fundamentally change the way they work, and possibly put them out of a job as we need less developers. So they convince themselves AI can't wo

I've tried both, I prefer OpenCode. I get that Pi is more customizable but I prefer a nice, complete out-of-the-box experience and that's what OpenCode provides.

What issues do you have with OpenCode? Personally I use it for the TUI, it's way better than Claude Code's one.

Also Claude Code is one of the worse CLI, the only good thing is that it's the default for Claude. I don't see why anyone would want to use it for any other model than Claude instead of OpenCode or Pi.

It did catch on, pretty much everything that supported RSS also supported Atom. It's just that they both fell out of fashion when social media decided they prefer to keep their users captive than accepting interop.

To be fair, Atom the XML Feed, similar to RSS (linked here) is probably the oldest one. It's from 2005. Now why a spec from 2005 is in the front page of hacker news, I have no idea...

The point is that we should start by working on the bigger waste. If agriculture represents 1000x the consumption of AI, even cutting the AI water usage by half would have the less impact than reducing agriculture water usage by 0.02%

In the rest of the world "public school" vs "private school" is pretty clear, I think you guys in UK are the only one to call private schools "public school" and public schools "state school".

My father was in electronics and schematics of pirate decoders were being passed around between friends/colleagues (this was before the web!) He got the schematics and built one. Later in the 90's, when TV cards became cheap enoug

Also there isn't one profile of software developers. At least 3 tiers: the FAANG level, the mid-size tech companies, then all the developers working for non-tech companies/administration or in IT service companies. Even in those c

Why people always dismiss the European option? Mistral is right here, their models are in-between the cheap to run Chinese models and top of the line performances of US frontier models.

It's also something that has nothing to do with religion. I am always surprised to see how religion people sometimes think you can't care about other people or your family if you don't believe in a bearded guy in the sky.
