I've been running a mail server for about 8 years now for me privately. I use it only for ordering stuff and for communicating with vendors but it works very well. Large e-mail providers never block me as far as I can tell, small ones

In some version of the game "Maniac Mansion 2: Day of the Tentacle", there was a easter egg that allowed you to play the first version of the game if you interacted with a computer stacked away in the back of the scene. The game w

A friend of mine spent much time on MUD[1] servers playing and interacting with strangers. The game theme was fantasy-ish. As he moved through the large world of the server he would repeatedly encounter people who asked him if he was a seer

It does not make for a good argument to draw a crude comparison to racism. It shows that you see no difference between race discrimination that destroys lives everyday and software selection processes that you deem unjustified. I do not dis

This depends on the way education is governed in each context. In Germany, education is governed by the federal states individually. They can leave these decisions up to schools (some even leave the desing of graduation exams to individual

It would be absolutely sensible to make a justified decision on this. For the context of Germany, I would imagine that this would be done by full-time employees of the ministries of education in the individual federal states. There could al

I've used the chrome one but it's not even close to the Firefox extension regarding usability. The tree-style view disappears when you do anything but interacting with it and you must confirm closing a tree which slows things down

Haha yes. I think I first saw this on social media websites, so it's a very close comparison. This introduced me to developer tools and the funny 3d view of html layers that Firefox had.
