You can cherry-pick the promises that have come true. But for every one of those there's a cyber truck, a "self driving mode," etc.

I do not hold people who make unjustifiably confident predictions in high regard. Yud and Kurzweil are the ones from your quote who I am more familiar with and they are constantly wrong and constantly overconfident. They've spent decad

The F35 and other modern fighter jets are the exception to the rule: they are inherently unstable because this makes them more maneuverable. They use electronic control systems to keep themselves stable.

Another reminder that Elon Musk routinely lies about timelines. If Mars colonization had followed the timeline laid out here, we'd be three years from having lots of people on Mars. On a side note, I loved Altman's interview style

You should consider an energy recovery ventilator. It blows in fresh outside air but it uses exhausted inside air to bring it up to the temperature of your home.

There are lots of other explanations for that. For example, it could be confirmation bias. It could also be that a lot of the kids had long COVID and the effects are wearing off over time.

It means your diaphragm has to do more work to open and close your lungs. However you’re still able to get plenty of oxygen.

That sounds reasonable, but even then it doesn't mean someone shouldn't wear a mask. Their performance would be decreased, but it doesn't mean that it would be medically dangerous (they would not have low blood oxygenation, f

"It absolutely reduces your ability to take it oxygen easily." This is absolutely false. There is very strong evidence that masks do not effect gas exchange. One example of many: https://www1.racgp.org.au/newsgp&#x

As far as I can tell this is totally made up. Where is the evidence that you have a "core bar" that cannot be replenished? None is cited in this article.

The people working on CO2 capture aren't idiots, they know that plants are a competing technology. People are pursuing CO2 capture because it is orders of times more efficient than plants in terms of space use, water use, etc.

There are a couple barriers: What would you do with the CO2? Even if home CO2 capture was practical, sequestering CO2 gas is really hard. A lot of the best chemicals for capturing carbon are very corrosive and dangerous to work with. Your b

No, this is incorrect. You can absolutely burn hydrocarbons, use the energy to do carbon capture, and end up with less CO2 in the air than when you started. Compressed CO2 is still a lower energy state than the hydrocarbons, so you can get

You actually end up with net negative carbon if you burn natural gas and use the energy to do CO2 capture (albeit just barely). This is because the carbon-carbon and carbon-hydrogen bonds of a hydrocarbon have more energy in them than the c

Imagine you did this and ended up in court. If you admit you lied on the DMCA request, you'd be admitting to perjury. If you continue to claim to be the cracker, Rockstar could sue you for damages from IP theft.

Indian English is not the same as American English. As I understand it, "backwards" means "disadvantaged" in this context. Perhaps you should prepone learning about English dialects.

As much as I hate SUVs of all types, road damage is not an issue for them. The axle weight of a fully-loaded 18-wheeler is like 8 times greater than that for an SUV, meaning they are dealing 4,096 times more damage to the road.
