Can you try to give more details than snark? What particular experience has left you so scarred? I have never had a problem doing Wikipedia edits for stuff I found inaccurate or needed more details. I didn't always go back to check but

That's not entirely true. libc++ works on Linux too. In fact, Google's PNaCl has experimental libc++ support that's completely cross-platform.

I don't think many real servers have 4 GB these days. The dev box under my desk has 32. Linux servers often have 1 TB of physical memory. So based on your calculation that's 256 million threads. Sounds enough :)

What walled garden, could you elaborate? Dart is an open-source project and compiles to JS. Not unlike CoffeeScript or TypeScript. The cool thing that makes me excited about dart2js is that Dart is a much better language than JS itself (not

So as far as MS is concerned, .NET/C# is still the officially sanctioned way to develop apps for their new "tablet-age" Windows 8+? [not desktop apps]

Wasn't there a notice a while ago that MS is dropping .NET in favor of HTML5 for its new OSes? Or has this decision been reversed at some point?

What I actually meant by suspicious is that it's uniformly low across many categories which at first sight look unrelated (e.g. cancer and firearms)

That's a sad reality in hardware that's not standards compliant, so only specific tuned-for-Windows/OSX drivers work. FWIW, there are decent drivers for HP OfficeJet wireless printers, and printing "just works" from

Genuinely curious: when you want a "cross-browser extension", why wouldn't a web-app do? Isn't an extension specifically something that requires non-standard browser APIs and hence can't be made part of a website?

You mean, $100-200 items (of which most kids have one or three during their childhood) are outselling $10,000 items (though more like $30,000 in Europe)?

Hmm, I want to compile huge open source projects quickly. For this I need as many cores as possible at a reasonable price, a lot of memory and an SSD. So it's time to upgrade :)

I'm always confused by these articles. If the issue was really so serious, wouldn't governments be concerned by it at this point? What does it mean that they aren't, in fact, concerned? Does it mean that the amount of people
