I have a Dell U3225QE with a built-in KVM and 2 macs. One connects with Thunderbolt only. The other connects with Display Port for video and USB-C for the rest of the built-in dock. It's OK most of the time with the nipple switch. My o

I think you might be confusing Umami with Plausible? Plausible is a total mess of heavy-idling containers and ClickHouse. I dropped switched to Umami and have had no performance issues of any kind. It's running on ~12 year old shitbox.

> Go is absolutely an easier/simpler language than JS/TS. You're suggesting that a language with concurrency is simpler/easier than a language that does not have concurrency.

I was really into Andy's blog when it first came out, but he might be doing the same motivated reasoning he complains about everyone else doing. https://blog.andymasley.com/p/data-centers-heat-exhaust-is-n... >

Indeed. _everyone_ has noticed it. Nobody really has any plan to fix it. IMO the urbanism movement comes closest to having some practical plans.

An orthogonal observation: Bearblog seems to have become an anti-AI echo chamber. Their community responds very positively to posts exactly like this one [1] [2] [3] I think it's just important context to keep in mind that these sorts

Is the movement to pause or halt datacenter construction filled with naïve children or sleeve-roller-uppers?

This critique reads to me like "capitalists should have asked anti-capitalists about whether or not to do capitalism". This is either going to get resolved through the political process as is proper and good, or else our politics

The chorus of people been calling for a pause has gotten louder. I'm ready to join them. Until recently, generative AI was more of a promising novelty than a useful tool. Work theater rather than work. Sometime over the last 6 months t

I noticed this feature earlier in the week and found it helpful and intuitive. I suspect they tested this well and most users liked it. GitHub usually has top rate UX. Performance is poor and there are a million other reasons to beat up on

The traditional cursor is so 2025. It's predictable. Familiar. old . AI is the future, so we need cursors of the future that simulate the frustrating lag and imprecision of LLMS. Dots chase other little dots around and do inscrutable

How do you find the token speed of open router with kimi? I have tasks that used to take ~3-5min with Sonnet 4.6. With OpenRouter Kimi, the same task takes 10+ min. It's also just obviously slower in opencode sessions. The results are

If that were the case, you could make a better argument that the opposite would be true. Open text field where you can vent and nobody ever reads it. Checkboxes indicate an attempt to categorize and understand problems. Physical comment car

If you sort https://layoffs.fyi/ by date, the machine started turning in 2020. But it did indeed kick into high gear in 2022. This was the big one I remember: https://layoffs.fyi/2020/05/18/u

There are clear contradictions across their marketing site. As others have pointed out, it's being removed from some help articles and the pricing chart now shows it revoked. Confusing signals, but they seem to be changing all pages in

The keepass ecosystem is comprised of a dozen implementations of the KDB(X) file spec. Some are better than others. I built KeePass Tusk back in 2018, for example. This would kill the project and abandon 30K users without a rewrite of the
