I'm not an expert, but what is the difference between a plain old ESB and what we now call an "API Gateway" or "API Manager" (such as Kong or WSO2) in the world of microservices? I know of some architectures where t

Can someone please compare both? Does the fact that Minizone is based on "async_hooks" make it more future proof? Less hacky?

I agree. Using classes for entities allows you to use libraries such as https://github.com/typestack/class-transformer And allows you to use "instanceof". User defined type guards for interfaces are hackish

I'm still using Jquery and some of the millions js libraries available only when you do not bind yourself to a SPA framework taking control of the DOM. And it work pretty well I must say! My opinion is that for 80% of the websites out

Have a look at https://github.com/Aris-t2/CustomCSSforFx , it can do many things, even if it's not a perfect Classic Theme Restorer replacement.

I work at a place where our websites should definitely be about informations and accessibility. But the pression to use SPAs in order to "be cool" is so strong, almost nobody questions this decision. Most seem to think that if y

Please Firefox developers : always keep in mind that power users are loyal to Firefox for some specific reasons. One of those reasons is that Firefox is, by far, the browser with the most customizable interface. The "Customize..."

I had to test a couple of variations before being happy because the same colors are used in all types of terminal (I use regular cmd and Bash). Sometimes one color is great in one type of terminal but is clashing with another color, for a p

The problem with WSL is that it's young so some integrations are still not perfect. For example, the integration with VSCode : https://github.com/Microsoft/vscode/issues/25033 https://github.c

But Javascript fans often also say the server should only be a REST API, consumed by the client side, and not bound to it. What that means is : 1) It makes no difference at all if is the server is implemented using a different language than

You can have a lot of interactivity with plain Javascript + some Ajax requests, without the need for the application to be a single page developed using an almighty framework. Classic websites are not synonym of "static documents"

Modern JVM based frameworks are far from being "monsters", and you have a lot, lot of choices! Many of them have an embedded HTTP server so they are very easy to develop and deploy. In case you want to investigate some: - https:&
