Google analytics gives very bad results, given the number of people using content blockers. I just want the number of unique visitors, I don't care about tracking or anything.

My issue with netlify is the lack of data or analytics about traffic. I cannot even see the number of visits ! That's why I use GitHub + cloudflare.

I don't think there is a huge difference with Facebook. You cannot delete your face (well, you can , but at a huge cost, with facial surgery). So when your photos are leaked, you can't do much about it, deleting your Facebook ac

It's a regressive tax, as it affects everyone at the same rate. Modern tax systems are progressive, ie people get different tax rates depending on their income.

We might not be fundamentally different. Even a slight difference in the brain could result in hugely different abilities. The outcome is fundamentally different, but not necessarily the brain.

So if you cripple ripgrep, to act like grep, it is not much faster. This is kind of obvious. Ripgrep is faster because it makes assumptions, that will hold true for a large part of its users. This is like saying "if I remove wings from

Maybe one reason is because it is a hassle to check the signature of someone you didn't have already in your contact list ? How do you know it's not a fake signature ? Certainly you have to look at their website and find the key.

It is quite scary to think that less and less people know how to write good assembly. So in a few years (decades?) we will have to rely on backends, with almost no one knowing how they really work, or how to write another one.

That's true for now, but I believe we will get there eventually. Who is writing assembly code anymore ? You can argue that compilers produce unmaintanable spaghetti assembly code, which is certainly true. But almost no one will look at

The problem is that advertising is shifting towards manipulation. Facebook and co can target so well their users, and do brain research to understand how to most effectively make someone want a product, or click on an ad, or buy a service..
