You can prove causation with an experimental study. You take a random population, split it in half and modify something for the first half, then look at the effects.

> I'm almost sure 100% vaccination rate with the vaccines currently available won't change much. How can you be almost sure ? Are you an immunologist or a contagious disease expert ? Do you have data to back this up ?

That's not what the article is talking about. They are saying that data biases are a problem but not the only one: other things can amplify biases such as the model's architecture. So when working to remove biases, fixing the data

This does not match the intuitive notion of randomness though. I would say for a given variable to be random, it must not be predictible, given any other variables that humans can know. I don't think it makes sense to say that X is ran

What you're describing is not randomness, it's independence. It's hard to define randomness. I think non-determinism is better than your definition.

Forces are just models to predict interactions between particles. It's only a model (a very accurate one though) so nothing is "really" a force. They are not material objects. But for gravity, something even more accurate was

The issue is that young people can die of covid, even if it's rare, also they can have some comorbidity that they do not want their employer to know about. Also, you can transmit covid and be asymptomatic. Finally, death is not the o

I don't think that's gonna be a real problem after a short adaptation time. Managers will learn the limits of the tools. Of course, if a product made by bubble is sufficient to solve the problem, than the engineer did a bad job wh

I don't agree about the level of abstraction. It is often recommend to not write a function if you call it only once or twice. So most functions will be called multiple times in your code. Copilot can be useful here as it will autocomp

That's the definition of aleph-1. The continuum hypothesis is that 2^aleph-0 (number of sets of integers or number of reals) = aleph-1.

It works well for completing lines one by one. I just write a few characters and it can often complete very well the lines. Of course it will not write complete functions correctly.

Maybe government should invest in companies instead of giving grants. So if the company fails, it is money lost like a grant, but if there is success, then the government can get its money back.

But what matters is the output, no ? Also, some people explicitly avoid reading codebases to avoid duplicating by mistake some copyrighted code. Not sure if this is true but I heard that it used to be forbidden to Microsoft developers to re

It's not as simple as that... It's not clear to me how it is copyright infringement if the generated code is truly new. Of course, if some code output is very similar to existing code, then it is obviously copyrighted. When you re

That's an argument for "progressive" support, and against the threshold effect, not for basic income. There should be no hard threshold, social support should be linear, and be reduced with the more money you earn. Like taxe
