The guy who wrote BPG is a legend. I was looking at his home page where it lists cool projects - https://bellard.org/ and I was thinking this is a great list of really popular projects. Then I realized he made all of them!

The brain is the greatest pattern matcher in the world. While it is unlikely all of these companies would have major outages in a month, be wary that the subconscious is constantly generating narratives to explain statistical anomalies. Int

I was commenting on the parent saying "It's a sick reality.." That seemed a little over the top, when you can leave your employer if the situation isn't good. I know job transfers can be hard to find, and career moves ar

That is an exaggeration. We have the ability to choose careers and jobs, so we have the ability to choose a healthier lifestyle via career moves. If someone has locked themselves down with debt, children, unhealthy stress levels, etc. an em

I believe, to some extent, outsiders want to see prestigious organizations fail, as it will make us feel better about our lot somehow. Journalism certainly plays on this as we see the most prestigious firms across consulting, tech, and fina

I enjoy Clojure. It’s a lisp that runs on the JVM. It really taught me a lot about the power of immutable data structures, code as data, and first class functions.

I agree that is outrageous. The problem is that people think it is capitalism. When there is no price transparency, there is no capitalism, period. Hopefully the US is on the way to government healthcare, but for now it would be great to ju

It’s better that this happens now than later. I am confident CF will put protections in place to prevent this from happening again, but also put a switch in place to provide an instant fix the next time something like this happens. It does
