Chances of those few people doing very large amounts of downloads reading this are quite small. Basic rate limits on IP level or some other simple fingerprinting would do a lot of good for those edge cases, as those folks are most likely no

Not really true. Take someone like Meta, who might not have a problem to hire 1000 people this year paying them half a million each. They can just hire that and it wouldn't even make a dent on their balance sheet. Compare that to a hun

Sounds like the same could be done with a slightly longer, but far more readable date + sequential identifier. Such as `YY-xxx` or `YYMM-xxx`.

Using LTS for Node releases is quite lauhable, given how long it takes for ecosystem to catch up, just before providers move to maintenance mode.

This is a weird title and IMO should have included "international resellers" to emphasise the risks are sourced from there, not really due to the eSIMs themselves. Those online-only, travel-oriented resellers, are incorporated or

That would just make the top companies get all the talent and new players and startups to stop hiring internationally.

Well said! This is not a policy, for a policy you need to think about it, analyse effects and stick to it. We know how decisions are made in this admin, and how shortlived they can be. Why would someone pay 100k knowing tomorrow this might

Geizhals is a great example of a sustainable business, working for almost three decades to improve their product and give users what they want. Glad to see them giving back to the community and hoping that they remain in this marker so Idea

They used the tool that was available at that time. I am sure they use internal chat apps as well in today's environment. I really don't want to try to promote Slack as 'one tool to rule them all' or advocate for its fea

Slack Connect is also big. Having a chance to talk to most (if not all of your clients) from the same place where you talk to colleagues is a great thing. Far more bandwith than email, links, mentions, etc., so this is a big thing that othe

Did you have problem with hw acceleration? I noticed that 4k videos can be a little choppy if hw decoding is on, with sw decoding they are fine but battery life is horrible then.

Is anyone using Observable for something? In theory sounds good, I like the demos, but never actually saw anyone actually using it. We use Marimo notebooks as a great improvement over Jupyter.

More likely 130kph, in most countries this is the upper limit on the highways and you effectively have no public areas in the country with higher limit. So the OP is kinda right with their take.
