   I can't see the gradient step on my 13" MBA as hard as I try. Those extra bits would definitely be wasted on me.

   Well, technically it doesn't have to be Apple hardware. They could be running hackintoshes, which would obviously be against the EULA of OSX. Another possibility is virtualization. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I think the OSX Server

   Somehow the blog post does not even mention the iOS sliders, let alone compare the solution Apple figured out for this problem: colors. Grey is OFF, blue is ON.
