I'm not at all familiar with the Apple development ecosystem, but since Swift has been open-source, why not run the swift version on all platforms? There are vast differences in the implementations of C++ and Swift, even if both are co

I got a Lenovo L520 with a sandy bridge i5-2410m, 4GB RAM about 1 year ago refurbished from Germany. I paid 97 Euros for it, great value for money I would say. It's been rocking Arch Linux with i3wm ever since, and never had any proble

After going through your timeblock app, I still don't know what exactly it is for, or why people would pay for that. I get that it is a sort of calendar with time tracking features. What makes it different from the thousands of other s

I wonder how it stacks up against Microsoft's SAL annotations. So far I've only used SAL annotation, with the compiler's /Analyze flag, but the amount of checking done is limited, and the system itself is far from perfec

Why do you say that? I think the technological progress will continue to grow exponentially. There are more researchers now than at any point in human history. The economic incentives are still at least as big (relatively speaking). At the

I also don't think a C preprocessor is at all confusing, it's quite a simple program, both to write and to program. Including less used features such as concatenation or stringification.

That's exactly my problem, I can't work for more than 5-6 hours because of exhaustion. But in my case, I'm still in school and work full time, so that may be part of the problem.

Any tips on profiling windows device drivers? I've tried xperf, but it doesn't allow you (or I haven't seen how) to change the frequency of the sampling, and can only do a system-wide profile. I've also tried vtune, but
