I just bought a high end Anker multi-port USB/PD brick and a collection of Nomad USB cables (C-C, A-C, and one that's C-C but includes C-A adaptors for both ends). To be fair, the only places I've consistently had issues wit

You're mostly right but you're ignoring the elephant in the room, which is search. Not even public search engine crawlers, but search within a Discord server by the server users. On a busy server, it's nearly impossible to

On the flip side, literally the only app I've ever had BT earbud issues with is Discord (on Android). With two different earbuds that both support multi-point, neither one would reliably work with Discord.

I'm a Cloud xoogler (2015-2023), too, and I'm not sure whether that would have made things easier or harder. There were quite a few "shiny object" solutions Cloud commercialized from other parts of Google/Alphabet

My impression is that the hassle and pain of doing this is often why languishing projects are deprecated. I can't tell you how many times I've read TotT issues or seen threads on eng-misc or elsewhere that would either talking ab

Yes, of course. Take a look at the Wildlands Conservancy's website to learn more. In my previous comment on this thread I also linked to this reference: https://www.calandtrusts.org/map-ca-land-trusts/ These sor

Yep! California, more than any other state I know, has done an absolutely tremendous job of allowing private/public reinvestment in land trusts to create publicly accessible conserved open spaces. I should probably not be surprised by

You're correct. This famously (within Google) came up in three scenarios: 1) people living in parts of Contra Costa County who were remote, and then paid 10% less than those living in the same place who commuted into a Google office i

Because it "afford", not afford. Clearly it would be possible, but not for the QoL they prefer. For $300k/yr you're buying a SFH in many other parts of the greater bay area.

The reality is that all sufficiently large land area countries are facing similar issues. It's the same in China, in Brazil, in Australia, etc. Technology has accelerated the economic gravity of large metros, at a pace not seen since

fwiw, I have seen exactly the same thing with the Nest Cam I have pointed into my backyard. Not interestingly, I suppose, this camera also regularly has the IR motion trigger activated by small moths and other flying bugs. :/
