It's mathematics. You can't put this genie back into the bottle. Also do realize that you are a tiny minority inside a tiny bubble. E.g. the number of cars has been increasing over time, and you don't even know. Upwards of 40

A year from now you will not know if something is AI or not in nearly all cases. "Filtering" is therefore a fruitless endeavor, there are _entire training methods_ (GAN) specifically designed to bypass any conceivable filtering. H

You don't have to imagine. Both the corporations and USG have been doing that for the last decade at the very least. If you want to test this, try posting anything controversial (AKA not 100% in line with the neoliberal agenda) in the

They're salting the earth / destroying the moat for OpenAI and Anthropic, and to a lesser extent, for Google. Basically, now pretty much anyone can do "sufficient" AI right in their garage. I use Mistral Large, and most

I agree on ending the subsidies, that's fine. But the US alone spends over $2T more each year than it earns. Oil/gas subsidies in the US are a tiny fraction of that sum.

LLMs can be fully deterministic BTW, depending on the sampling method used. Some methods do not have a random component. As to the rest, yeah - they aren't inspectable or understandable yet.

Would spending 100 trillion dollars that we don't have cause more deaths than it prevents, due to increased poverty and rising cost of living? That's all I'm really asking here. Has anyone bothered to run the numbers?

You really think people who are dragged to the trenches by press gangs [1] will "capture soil"? The video is by RFERL, BTW, as Western as it gets. Not "FSB propaganda". [1] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v

Did you miss the part where the OP was proposing to basically rob the poor by inflating the currency? The poor and lower middle class already barely make ends meet even in the US, let alone the rest of the world. Plus, nobody can guarantee

And the question is, then, what if you spend all those trillions (which we don't have, BTW), and it doesn't "stop". Who's going to be responsible, and in what way?

An AI engineer with some experience today can easily pull down 700K-1M TC a year at a bigtech. They must be unaware that the "barriers are coming down fast". In reality it's a full time job to just _keep up with research_. An
