Assuming that the min. wage increase has been great for NYC, I fear this would be used as "evidence" that a such a minimum wage would work everywhere in America. NYC is one of the most expensive places in the US to live and work.

I'll give you some advice, but first, a caveat: PHds are correlated with higher intelligence, and higher self-discipline. This is obviously due to the filtering process involved in achieving such a goal. To succeed in life, you will

It says typescript and ML, but it looks quite a bit like Rust/Swift, which is great for my tastes. I'm still not sure what is the raison d'etre here. Why would I use this instead of, say, Rust to WASM?

I, too, tried in vain to buy a decent quality 4k KVM. Oddly the video worked better than the USB mouse/keyboard. (?) Having failed the KVM route, I, too became a Synergy fan. I don't think Synergy caused the decline of KVM, but i

This is a great summary of anonymous routing networks. If you're interested in anonymous distributed computation, you might want to have a look at Feralcore (I am not the author) http://www.feralcore.com/fcfiles/d

I know the depiction of DAO in this article is rather simplistic, but, wow. The main thing it says to me is that the contractor of the future has to be adept at marketing and communicating to an audience of shareholders in the company, as w

This demonstrates the brilliance of Rust's syntax extensions. Not only is the code more readable and ergonomic, but also type safe. Errors or mismatches in implementations are caught at compile time, saving minutes (or potentially hou

Not quite. _Bitcoin_ (and other coins) operate as a currency. Blockchain is a distributed ledger which can store _any_ information for all time. Contracts, fulfilments, ascii art, whatever.

The question is: "Who owns and operates the central database?" There is little trust between organizations. Both from ethical and technical perspectives, I wouldn't trust anyone to run a central clearing database for anything

This is unfortunate. I agree with the YC leadership. It seems wrong to me to punish anyone for their political beliefs. However, I can't blame Project Include for cutting ties with an organization which appears to support someone that

Sounds like it could be a basis for a security oriented scanner. Rust has less to worry about regarding memory security, but performing taint analysis for logical security flaws could be mighty interesting.

What you're describing to me is you've built a very solid structure for reasoning about programs, but it is too rigid, and too focused. I would heartily recommend learning a new language. You need to shake things up a bit. Two
