The xkcd on infinite scrolling is very relevant here[1]. It even uses the same book comparison! I don't hate infinite scrolling as much as I used to, but I think that's just because I'm not a heavy user of any sites that hav

I had no idea that Twitter could do that(or that, apparently, you can just change your Twitter handle) and so it caused me to read his Twitter[1] as though the thief had decided to mock either twitter or @N_IS_STOLEN by tweeting lots of thi

He did write a pretty nice article about the process of the handle being stolen[1], but I'm pretty sure that's not what you're talking about. I, too, would like to hear about the process of actually getting the handle back.

Ha! The first talk[1] about Jason pretending to have a copy of the iPad 2 is hilarious. I've never heard that story before, definitely an entertaining couple of minutes. [1] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gbI9pIbpY4

250 ms for SC2 is a huge handicap and is definitely not added to the game. I can't imagine marine splitting(or really playing BW at all) with that kind of penalty. That being said, Targa is famous for playing for a while via a 4g co

Can you provide a link? This is probably my hugest pet peeve when it comes to browsing the internet. I have no idea how fixed headers became so trendy and I find them absurdly painful. I tend to read at the top of the page and scroll dow

I saw exactly this situation in high school. I went to a prep school, so there was definitely explicit pressure to do things that look good for college. Two of my classmates put together the "Dollars for Darfur" program, which be

As far as I know just about any language works. I know python works: I submitted a python solution for level 0. Just make sure that the level0 file is an executable file and change the crunchbang to run python instead of ruby.

From what I remember folks either did it "just for laughs" or because they had a problem with the idea of a poll gathering information about people on the internet. I can imagine both reasons applying for a poll about income. At

For an avid reader of HN, I'm definitely very uninformed when it comes to the startup scene. It's entirely possible that I'm dead wrong about the poll and ~40-50% of founders don't take a salary. I guess my post spends
