I do want to reiterate that I think tailwind itself has some great ideas. And there’s nothing wrong with utility css, if you’re not using a library you’ll end up writ a lot of it yourself.

You are correct. I missread it and was thinking BEM, unoCSS, etc. Such that BEM was something different then the rest of the list.

The reason people think tailwind is supposed to replace CSS is the way adam wathan and the tailwind fanboys position it that way. There's a lot talk about how terrible css is from that camp. Honestly, a lot of the negative sentiment co

You don't need tailwind for that? that's how css works.

BEM is just a naming scheme. It's not a framework or library.

The tailwind developers have specifically said @apply is a codesmell and they regret adding it. If you're just going to stick the tail wind classes in a class like this, why bother? just use css vars.

How is any of that relevant to walking a use through self install of an app. From an app store or managed software centers, or wherever.

I can't reply to Gud below, but their comment really shows they haven't worked with real users at all. A lot of people on hacker news assume everyone is in the demographic of hacker news for some odd reason. It absolutely can take

Cyberpunk is 100% a product of the 80s. I disagree that it should change. Moving beyond what it was kind of ruins it, in the same ways 80s horror movies could be solved with a cell phone. It's better to look at it as a sub-grene or alt

Do employee’s store stuff in the “recycle bin”/“trash”? And get upset when IT empties it when the disc is full? Yes this is a real thing.

We see this pattern a lot. It's like twitter. You can write an app that works just like twitter in a short amount of time. A week tops. But that's not the hard part. Moderation, getting the product profitable, etc, are the hard pa

There doesn’t seem to be any easily findable screenshots or demos. That’s a big red flag for me. I know this isn’t one, but that’s a typical strategy for ERP/CRM systems that look and feel like something out of 2002.

Why would wasm replace containers? If you're going to run a binary why not just compile it for the local system? We've always had 'compile once, run anywhere' but there's always been caveats and gotchas.

I'm a bit lost here. What's the scam part? I mean, there's clearly a fully functioning game engine, that's open source, with public development on github, right? I'm not seeing anyone taking money and running.

It's relevant because commenters on here and other places are saying everyone should switch from 'the bird site' to mastodon?

Somehow I doubt your level of technology literacy is the same as the average twitter/threads user. (You'd have more tech literacy) Just being on hacker news is a bit of a filter.

The feeling I get from comments on hacker news and such, is that mastodon is a replacement for twitter that _everyone_ should switch to. So you're competing with twitter and any other replacement like threads.
