It's not like those widgets need a full routing system with ssr, etc. Even with vue, you can just drop that component on the page.

This is pretty spot on. The problem isn't JS, it's people turning small blogs, brochure sites, static pages, etc into SPAs

But... We need our app to be accessible on essentially 4 different platforms. Even if we had the resources to code and maintain four native applications, getting users to update is like pulling teeth. Full page loads are out, because we don

Vue is the 3rd in framework ranks... and like the 16th ranked? "Testing Library" is the top testing library apparently? Had to check that this was an actual library, I'm sure many people just left it as a 'whatever'

For a blog page, especially something as simple as what's linked to, coding html and css by hand is very simple. It's a blog, not a full blown app.

I'm very glad the author actually said this: ``` You don’t need Wordpress, or Hugo to put a blog online, or Angular, React or Next.js to put a web page online. Raw HTML and CSS do the job. That being said, you’ll need to pick up some t

I can't think of a worse idea than telling people their mobile app should be scrapping their desktop page for data.

It's definitely unfair. But yeah, there's a lot of SPAs that are 1) not treeshaken, and 2) probably don't need to be SPAs. things like loading a whole mapping library, when it's used on one page that maybe 10% of users w

I'm definitely not questions if your doing things securely or not. Just if maybe needlessly complex. I'll describe what i'm doing, as the code is kind of old. * I have a token model that stores a uuid and the relevant user an

I would honestly question if you actually need JWT anyways. jwt is useful for independently verified auth tokens. i.e. service a auths the user, generates a token that says ' this is definitely my user with this data'. service b c

Why would installing from source change things. Without finding/fixing the bug, you're just using the same compiled code as before

That's kind of the point though? It's nuts, but you can still manage to do it. Maybe a handful of people would ever actually need to do it, so why would it be a default, or even an option people might accidently set?

How do you think this transition has gone badly? For the average, normal human, they won't notice which platform they're on. Only someone with a niche need will have any issues. and those issues are being fixed rapidly. While ther

I deploy on linux, but dev on macOS without a vm or docker or anything. If you're not doing anything OS dependant, which most web apps don't, you can run everything natively.
