If either side is happy then there's an inequity. Or you might get into the position where the employer and employee think they got a great deal. I've heard of it happen before. In any case, making sure neither side is happy is not really

That's interesting. I'm sure some people here, like me, believe the opposite, since I/O is so much slower than processors now. Can you give a bit more of an explanation as to what kind of applications are CPU bound and why?

With regards to the second question, it seems that sometimes a hack today to save time could cost a lot down the road, when the hack becomes some integral component somewhere. It's not always that easy to decide whether the short-term benef

This article refers to the metal foam being able to compress "without deforming". Now, I'm no materials specialist, but as a mechanical engineering senior, that makes no sense to me. The whole point of the material seems to be to deform in

There was some work done by Sun recently on this, around last year I think, where they showed how much more performance could be gotten out of a system when flash is added to the mix. I can't quite find the link to the article now though. I

We should institutionalize that somehow. Like the public wall of shame of old, a vetting board decides if your issue gets pushed down the pipeline and all the news outlets subscribe to it. Or, one could run it something like how Stack Ove

Sure, but from a business perspective, those users in Asia may also be harder to monetize, depending on your market and business model. Even Google apparently had issues monetizing China, for instance, cyber-warfare and censorship aside. Bu

What an amazing setup. What I'm wondering is whether something similar, in terms of automated jamming, could be made available to more people through software, perhaps a puredata program. That would be a really interesting project to work o

Well, the quote was from the 404 page, but I can see how it could be seen as off-topic. In any case, it seems the situation has reversed now, so no point discussing this minor point.
