Too bad not every heroku customer received such an email. I did not.

They could have easily sent an email. As far as I'm aware, I would have only seen it if I logged into the dashboard, however, my app works completely fine and I have no need to do this unless it stops working, which it just did tonigh

Escape velocity seems to work, I recommend it if you haven't played it.

Rendering at every intermediate size means that it is slower (by default).

I agree, it is quite refreshing to work on an architecture without any caching, although quite slow as well :)

Do cpu caches poison the performance well?

Probably because FDR is very relevant to the article.

In terms of mass it weighs more (depending on model, it can be as little as 200lbs more), but it's not actually much larger in terms of size. I think it is actually smaller in some dimensions.

My 2021 miata isn't really much larger than a 1989 miata.

And in turn, instead of doing extra work once, you are making every computer that runs your software do extra work every time.

The problem with the original statement is the phrase "more instantly meaningful". It might be correct if it said "more meaningful", but I doubt it's more `instantly` meaningful for someone who can read numbers qui

More complex problems? I'm not sure. A sophisticated camera is quite nice, but quake introduced a visibility determination solution that was used in dozens, perhaps hundreds of games afterwards. It also helped pioneer modding (it has

Self-modifying code isn't a bad idea. Like everything else, it has it's place, just not typically on modern computers due to breaking optimizations. What you describe is actually used in a lot of modern software, usually self-mod

That warning about "premature optimization" was about optimizing the wrong things that provide no benefit, not a warning about optimizing in general.

Which companies use Haskell for HFT? I know someone who works at a HFT company that switched away from Haskell specifically for performance reasons.

Oh, well everyday usage is totally fine (reviewing cards, adding cards), but some things are still a little weird, card types vs note types for example, but that comes up rarely enough that it doesn't bother me. Maybe I'm just tir

I suppose remembering to sync is an issue, but I've just built the habit of always syncing when finished. Anki will also sync automatically when you exit (this might be an option you have to enable in the settings).

Very minor issues. Once every couple months I'll have forgotten to sync from device A after adding cards, do some reps on device B, realize I'm missing cards, and have to go back and resync. Only a couple times over my entire usa

You definitely can, but whether it's necessary to delay simple things like that, I'm not sure. It's pretty simple to speak things that you've acquired (of course it'll be slow and awkward at first, but that's n
