On a second though I have to agree with you. I was thinking primitive types compared to JavaScript, but then it hit me.

This. There is no other reason to require KYC for a server-side text transformation tool, no matter how impressive it is.

Funny though their KYC process is not done via WorldCoin. Obviously because WorldCoin KYC is useless for authorities.

I have to reluctantly agree with you on the merit. However run0 has a property of being a systemd project, which makes it a no go from the inception. And sudo-rs has a similar property of being a virtue signaling project and not a real one.

rust coreutils had zero chance of being even noticed until canonical decided to replace working tools with this.

Indeed. I have opened the playground and it doesn't let me choose GPT-5. Obviously I will not be KYCing myself. But that's okay. There are plenty of other models. Perhaps not bleeding edge great, but great nevertheless.

I have been an Ubuntu user since inception (and Linux user since kernel 1.2.3). This summer I have migrated all our production and development servers to Debian. Because absolutely and sincerely fuck rust coreutils, sudo-rs, systemd-* and t

Absolutely nothing. But systemd projects and Rust rewrites have this one thing in common: them being pure virtue signaling they absolutely have to be noticed. And what's a better way to get noticed if not going for something important

run0 can f off along with the rest of the systemd abominations. sudo worked for decades perfectly well and didn't call for any replacement. run0, like much of the systemd projects and rust rewrites, is a solution in search of a problem

Unfortunately yes. I have been looking at one of the well-known VPN infrastructure providers and they use "AI" on their website a bazillion times. Insane.

So we now have two independent and different ways to disable Liquid Glass: "reduce transparency" and "tinted". Nice.

At least for Microsoft it is balanced by the real need to listen to business customers. Apple has none of such checks-and-balances because it caters primarily to individual users.

FYI: In macOS 26.1 the hidden setting to disable Liquid Glass doesn't work anymore. We're now stuck with this abomination.
