I hope more people do follow those signals and get into the field! The challenged faced in other countries (such as Spain where I live) is that it's easier than ever to pump highly qualified programmers and engineers out of state-sponsored

Great App! I thought the lessons were well commented and laid out. One trick, instead of bulking up with more features, it to lay out more lessons and publish a system for letting us know when they're available. For me it would be more usef

Definitely a brave man. It's a bittersweet award for me (Medal of Honor) because most of the recipients died in the line of duty. I'm really glad that this corporal did his duty and made it home to receive the honor in person.

Let's not overgeneralize by lumping everyone into a single "financial industry" - really some sectors like banking are highly regulated while others (like hedge funds) much less so. Despite high bureaucracy, the financial industry as a whol

Yes, greatly slowed and that's troubling considering all the cash that American corporations are sitting on right now. That said, the indicators are still vastly different from what we saw in the last 20-30 years even of the Soviet economy,

Well, if it's a definition it's a crappy 2-second one so I apologize for that. I hear what you're saying here and I agree. In any effect, we can probably all agree that the end result of all this is overwhelmingly negative for the long-run

I really hope that 10% unemployment IS NOT an equilibrium for the US, but I agree that all the major increases in US productivity lately are not being shared evenly among the working class. Capital (held ever-increasingly by the wealthy) is

Well, nobody is talking about "business versus government", so please don't just cherry-pick or take parts of these comments out of context. We're talking about key concepts in Political Economy (PE) and I'm clearing saying that I disagree

How many articles can people write as spin-offs of this same theme? I'm just getting a little tired of the countless "Android vs iOS", "Android vs iOS" market share articles out there. Maybe it's just a slow news day and they have to find 1

again, usually cell towers are lease-based and not rented, and the company is in charge of their own electrical power for the tower. The power comes from the street and they have a meter. That being said, maybe BART is different.

That would make more sense - I know from renting commercial space (with cell towers on the roof) that the power and service can be independent of the building (i.e. power comes from the street). Maybe that's not true in BART. I'd agree that

The most difficult challenge is what the author describes as: "When you find your product getting too monolithic, break it up". It's easy to pile on features when you develop a product, but doubly difficult to derive it down to the most ess

Well, the post wasn't very well written probably, but you can argue that they are talking about two concepts: Axioms and Notation. If you used base 2, or base 3 (or base -2, -3) math, then that particular notation would work out differently
