I use FreeCAD and Solvespace mainly for personal use, but I use Fusion, Inventor, Solidworks, and Rhino at work with Inventor and Rhino being my two main CAD programs. We also have Revit and I had been using IDEAS back in 1997. I love FreeC

Thanks for the link! I am going to look more into rg3d, but the C99 engine is interesting to me, because I use Raylib[0] for my C gamedev explorations. I will never fully leave C, because I will be dead before C is fully, or largely, displa

You can argue the semantics or meaning of the word accident in this incident, but I think it is important to make the distinction that it was no accident in bringing down the system that both the university and the hospital depend upon. The

It's not an accident. It is a supposed unintended consequence of a criminal act.

I have started playing with Bevy [1], so I wonder how this compares from an ECS point of view? I am a beginner at Rust, so any insight would be appreciated. Thanks! Great to see gamedev taking off on Rust! [1] https://bevyengine

I bought the book, and I am working through: Building High Integrity Applications with SPARK. I put Rust aside due to Ada/SPARK's lead in this industry. I think Rust will catch up, but SPARK2014 seems to be the way to go for now.

The Student Loan Reform Act of 1993 was under Clinton and sponsored by Democrat Robert E. Andrews of NJ. The gist was to smooth the delivery of funds to the colleges, but per the article it failed since colleges then raised their tuition to

I remember my oldest son built a mobile platform with a tablet on it, so he could bother his sister at college remotely! He put his face on it, and the tablet was on a stick that could rotate as well. that was over 5 years ago. He was 15 ar

Thank you. I hadn't heard of it before. I would like to see it happen. I do think it will take many man-years to catch up with Ada/SPARK2014 and win industry favor and confidence, but it's good to see.

I agree. Ada has been around and picked apart for high-integrity software jobs. I am personally learning SPARK2014, the subset of Ada. It has formal verification as part of the toolset. I would think Rust would need to develop similar forma

I've tried OpenSCAD, and it's nice for what it is. I'll see if this offers more powerful scripting. I used to program AutoLISP routines in AutoCAD decades ago. Creating geometry strictly from LISP without using the GUI was am

For a low-level, systems programming language it really comes down to Rust and Zig if you are migrating from C. I like Idris, but I don't see it in this category, nor Kotlin, although Kotlin Native perhaps? Yes, Zig is exciting! I find

The 3kb demoscene example is just to open a window, not a full, self-contained 64k demo in 3kb. Is the program basically calling the Win API through unsafe functions? I am trying to learn Rust, and I am wondering how it might actually be us
