That is an excellent ad hominem attack on the source. You are incorrect, it is capped at a 2% increase per year and of course is reassessed at 1% of the total property value when the property changes hands. Of course proposition 13 lowers t

Do you have any references for your position? Proposition 13 is not California's problem, read this if you are interested. http://weblog.signonsandiego.com/weblogs/afb/archives/034048...

I think a debug command line switch to python would suffice. You could use the heap to store stack traces when TCO is in use.

There are shower control systems, purely mechanical, that regulate the temperature themselves. Those systems would automatically adjust to the changing temperature of the "cold" water.

Being a heat exchanger I assume it uses small tubes with tight turns. Probably not great for hair.

I don't understand what your point is. Are you suggesting that since AMBER alerts are a waste of time and are a tool for "the man" to control us the app should be denied? What about google's app where you are sending your voice to google?

What would you consider a fair action on MS's part? In this scenario I'll consider it a given that you have traced the loss of all of your data to a bug that Microsoft agrees exists and did in fact destroy all of your data.

I just tried that with Reader. I have no unread items but gears wanted to download 2000 items and it took a while. Then, I switched back to online mode, works as you expect. Switched back to offline mode, and it wants to download 2000 item

That wouldn't make any sense anyway. You'd have to keep separate cookies per tab, but tabs have no identification for persistence. So you open two gmail accounts, one in each tab. Close them both. Open a new gmail tab, which account will

I can't agree with the novel concept angle here. There is no need for analogy here. This is precisely getting a new version of software, which is not in any way novel. A better physical analogy is paying shipping and handling for mailing i

The way I see this, Google wants to put servers in the edge ISPs, aka the telcos, in an effort to save everyone money including those telcos. Google becomes a paying customer, the ISP in question uses a lot less Internet bandwidth and a lo

That's part of it but equally important is the idea of separating language / syntax changes, Objective-J, from the real goal of the library, Cappuccino. The other frameworks mentioned blend the two together, for example you can't get the J

The problem with building a virus on OSX is not obtaining root access, it is replication. How is a virus going to propagate from one mac to the next? If you don't propagate you're just a trojan and will have limited penetration.

First, you download a small .torrent file. That small file contains the hash of the contents as well as a hash of each segment of the contents of the final data. If you trust the source of the .torrent file then it doesn't matter who you

In my experience, the browser doesn't reliably send the username and password with each request so you get a bunch of re-queries. Cookies don't have that problem, they're always sent. At least, that's what I saw on the intranet site I buil

The politically correct view is to dodge the issue. There are a large number of people that oppose a stance in either direction, so the best thing to do is say nothing and give nothing to either side to use as a reason to dislike you.

But you don't know that url A and url B in fact point to the same file until after the file has been downloaded. At that point, why not just load the javascript instead of performing an md5 checksum.
