Smart employers, I think, will share workspaces. I can't remember the last time I really needed a piece of paper (I carry a remarkable for that) and as long as I can dock easily, with a decent screen and keyboard/mouse combo, I am

May I chime in with a project around more or less the same idea and use cases. https://github.com/efrecon/sqlite-backup . I am pretty sure there are dozens of similar-but-not-quite projects on GitHub/gitlab/et

On Windows, it is more or less the same. I ended up having all my files in the VM and keep windows as a shell around everything. That way, it all feels almost native Linux. Can you do the same on Mac?

This is really spot on! Thanks for summarising it all. Especially, I know that jq is almost ubiquitous, until it's not (for example: not in the busybox, nor alpine default docker images). So please: avoid JSON, or at least provide an o

I came here to say this. Redis and SQLite, mentioned elsewhere, have their roots in Tcl, so there are some connections.

Compose has been rewritten in golang. I think it talks to the Daemon directly now.

There is a shim so that they can be the same. The new docker compose (with space) is compatible with the old one.

The spec finally supports the extends keyword, to build upon another service in another file. But maybe this isn't what you meant by composition?

I have done something in a similar vein. DEW. https://github.com/efrecon/dew .

I feel the new list feature is missing the ability to have many lists. 10 (or whatever the max is, can't remember) is too little. I'd like to have many more categories available. What do you all think?

This is great! Fully functional and works (as in: is able to look up people and their numbers). Brings back old fond memories!

Trivy is good. It comes bundled with the harbor docker registry, meaning you get security analysis of your images and provide for some level of security as you can prevent pulling critical images (or whatever level you deem necessary).

I usually use binenv ( https://github.com/devops-works/binenv ) to install binaries from releases. But maybe I misunderstood and this isn't the same.

I know this is a joke. But.. when I learnt C programming, and in order to smooth transition from algo classes to practical programming, we were told to #include a header file that would more or less do what this does for rust. The header fi

In the past few weeks, I have spent some time and released dew [0]. It helps encapsulating this kind of setups in configuration and minimising typing. dew is still evolving, but it has served me well. [0]: https://github.com/
