Cool! How is this project different from the tuning process in TVM?

I totally agree. That would be great. I think the problem with that is LLMs don’t know what they don’t know. It’s arguable they even “know” anything!

As a datahand user I can tell you that is indeed the case. But 99% of the time (likely more) I’m typing at home. Why deny yourself the pleasure of a nice typing experience the majority of the time?

`Result` is just `Either` by another name, and the main idea is to use sum and product types as the result of a computation instead of throwing, which turns error handling into business as usual. The `Result` type and `Error` trait really a

I’ve found rust to be an ML in C’s clothing. The main difference from other MLs is the lack of higher kinded types, so it’s difficult to express things like Functor, Monad, Arrow, etc

I think this is a problem of using the right abstractions. Rust gamedev is the Wild West, and frontier development incurs the frontier tax. You have to put a lot of work into making an abstraction, even before you know if it’s the right fit

Agreed, either you get bit by your choice early on and can’t ship, or you ship and get bit later when trying to maintain the puddle of guck you just shipped. If you don’t know how to do it, you don’t know how to do it. Learn how to do it.

I’m a rust-GPU maintainer and can say that shared types on host and GPU are definitely intended. We’ve mostly been focused on graphics, but are shifting efforts to more general compute. There’s a lot of work though, and we all have day jobs

Prototypal inheritance can be pretty awkward and complicated. It’s evident in that few young JS devs ever use it, and many don’t even know about it!

The attitude comes from a point of analysis, and the argument that follows is that we can save by cutting spending in specific areas that we overspend in (military) and we could rake in lots more in taxes by making the rich _pay their fare
