I find myself thinking the same thing about every web based IDE/editor - how would you write a graphical application? How would you write a game? I guess its possible to install X on the remote and then somehow stream video over the wi

These look neat and they made a great kickstarter video. They know who's going to want those (25 - 30 something guys) and they made sure to have lots of shots of cute girls using the skates. I watched the whole thing ;) It was also fun

You can also do this in Haskell using the State monad and do notation.

Would it be impossible for browsers to include support for more than one scripting language? I've never looked at the architecture of browsers but it would be fun to run pychrome or haskafari. Just because we all got on the js train do

Or you can use do notation inside the state monad and keep everything pure. Then you get the best of both worlds.

But why (how) would a virus evolve deadly symptoms if it doesn't already cause deadly symptoms. I always thought that the rate at which Ebola Zaire kills its hosts is actually a hindrance to its further evolution. In general do virii t

While reading this I could stop thinking how wasteful it all seems. Here we are creating a complicated solution to a very simple problem. All the workarounds needed to navigate around copyrights violations is costly - for the earth! If Aere

Yes - you can now compile Haskell code to run on iOS. There are still a few unusual steps that involve ffi but its pretty easy to get a trivial project up and running. I have an unfinished project that shows the process. https://

I think the main feature haste is providing is Haskell to JavaScript compilation. That will increase your productivity by 1. Enabling you to lean on the compiler when refactoring. 2. Decreasing the time you spend debugging. The fact that it

What is the cognitive overhead Haskell is introducing? Types? Because as far as I can tell we use types in all OOP, they're just implicit and not checked.

Great advice, thanks. Are there any good resources specifically for volumetric, cube or voxel rendering? Is it completely different than polygons?

@gavinwoolery - How did you get started working with voxels, graphics, etc? What are some good resources for learning about this stuff? Awesome demo.

I always thought that algebraic functions are not guaranteed to be defined given certain parameters. It's just that perfectly algebraic functions don't throw errors, they silently return +-infinity. Like the asymptotes in `tan x`.

This looks awesome and interesting. On another note it looks like the rendering is all done in OpenGL, which I have always wondered about - how often are IDEs written from scratch using OpenGL? Is it commonplace?
