I'm not sure why I would care about the "rewatchable" metric. I only look at reviews for a movie I haven't seen. If I've seen it I can decide myself if I'd enjoy watching again. So subtracting that you are left with the normal star system

I'm curious if this is a unique problem for tech workers. I'm sure if you look at conferences from any field there will be incidents of sexual harassment. Is this a problem unique to tech or a general problem of idiot men working with wome

Wow, I would have been screwed. I had to look in my wallet because I truly didn't know if I had a Visa. I just have a card my bank provided and it happens to be Master Card. And I rarely carry around much cash.

I've run into this so often; I'm glad I'm not the only one. I often have to revert to modifying the URL just to get to their main page (change blog.company.com to company.com) after finding no possible way to link to the home page.

There is definitely some items where the article's argument holds true. Furniture is definitely one. I can buy a Stickley table (very expensive) and my great grandkids will be using it in their home. Clothing is another. Cheap clothing

Agree. I think people assume Republican means social conservative values only (thus they relate to country music). But Libertarian types are frequently Republicans. I see Pink Floyd themes being conservative. Conservatives are anti all

Yep, me too. Those SocialCam videos are so enticing! I click but when prompted to install I resist. It's so f'ing annoying that you can't even follow a link (like anything on Yahoo) without installing the app. I just do a separate Google

Not saying there is anything wrong with this article. I just remembered him for this and thought it was funny.

Thank you! I read the first sentence: There was a time when building a cutting edge web app meant wasting hours setting up a Linux server, days installing MySQL and Ruby or PHP, and months slaving away writing backend server code. . Huh?

And also Java is very popular in large corporations (at least in my experience in the Financial Services sector). These companies have large staffs and lots of money. They'll send whole teams to training classes (which includes books). Wh

The article mentions that the customer always thinks it should be done faster or cheaper. I often have the opposite experience. The customer who is completely clueless and has no idea how long things take. I've had customers ask for a lin

Next article will be titled "GitHub is dangerous". Just like in a resume, a candidate can easily embellish. Of course you can't trust what someone claims to know. You must verify it.

Love it! Watching the video on You Tube I noticed other videos on the side including Lady Gaga on Letterman. Couldn't help but think Grace Hopper is the kind of person who should be famous and a role model. Instead its people like Lady G

That was my first thought. Or people complaining about air travel - "when they are in a chair flying 500 mph 7 miles up!" I find it hard to get worked up about a program that you are going to use for the next 8 hours taking 30 seconds to s

No, I think he was right - "build platform specific and complementary versions of Office for every device that popped up." People moving to iPads would likely just install Office since it's what they know and less work learning something n
