I'm not sure what you mean by increased access. The public school system has very limited funds and personnel. There are some schools with no dedicated reading specialist for example (ever fewer have occupational therapist or autism sp

Ugh. Google of course has to continue to own every bit of information on the web. Them deciding what is misinformeation is also scary.

Yes, I'd like to know where you are getting that the actual rates are increasing. My wife and I (parent's of a daughter with autism) laugh how every year they claim the numbers increase - 1/100, then 1/50, etc. These are

Fellow Texan. We have a 16 yr old girl on the spectrum. Not sure how old your daughter is. The public schools are required to provide service (even before starting school) once your daughter has been officially diagnosed and it's recor

Yeah, I was very surprised to see this is a normal public school. I'm not sure how that works with this school having a different schedule and teachers having different hours and perks (interesting from the union point of view). But I&

Yeah, how cheesy that the US (the US!) post office used a Vegas statue instead of the one on Ellis Island. What were they thinking!?

Exactly. In the 50s the average home size was 950 sq ft. In the 2000s 2,320 sq ft.

If a teacher wants to afford a house they can move to any of the 90% of the states where its doable. I live in San Antonio, where teacher starting salary is $50k and you can easily buy a house for $100k.

But couldn't you substitute teacher with any other job. It's not about teacher pay. It's the price of housing has skyrocketed compared to average salaries in general.

Agree. My young son was recently in a car accident. As part of the agreement with the insurance company he got some compensation. But this is in the form of an annuity with yearly payments when he turns 18. This protects him from parents lo
