I feel like it's a stepping stone in more ways than one. There's still plenty we don't know about how our own biology functions outside of Earth's gravity well, atmosphere, or magnetosphere. Long term studies will need

Not just in DAU either. Mind-share wise, it has a huge influence on the wider web and is increasingly the platform for content stealers (the 9gags, buzzfeeds, and facebook pages).

Came here to say the same thing. It seems like a complete oversight to not even mention reddit, but bring up platforms like Yik Yak. For my 2 cents, reddit's model is absolutely the road forward for long-term sustainability below the

Unfortunate but true. There's a large amount of people (especially in this country), who feel that way. When they hear in policy discussions "X will harm people", they automatically translate to "X will harm people that

While I'm usually all for bashing both sides, does it really apply in this case? The bill in question repeals rules set out by the FCC under the Obama administration. Those rules were a proactive measure that increased privacy from ISP

I like the evolutionary analogy. I agree that the global nature of internet communication will most probably lead to a homogenization effect. Truly distinct cultures will soften over time. The lack of diversity would reduce the output, but
