I get what OP means by bringing up the term though. I'd love to ask the visual thinkers in the thread if they have voluntary hallucinations. It's why I tried the Augmented Reality methaphor in another comment. Something that your

That sounds very similar to my experience. Memories in my head can be made up of visual data, but once that data is encoded it doesn't seem to have any interaction with the sensory system. Imagination lets me recreate the scene, object

Agree. I can sort of apply algorithmic visual processes on images in my memory. Edge detection, object identification, primary color identification, etc. Anything more than that seems to be primarily the domain of my actual visual system. I

Yeah, threads like this make me wonder similar things. Lots of people here are using terms like overlay and superimpose that seem foreign to me. For those in the thread that can work on imagery in a visual manner, does it feel like the imag

For more magical realism, definitely give Gabriel Garcia Marquez a try. It doesn't feel quite as foreign as Japanese culture, but it definitely captures the same kind of mystery. One Hundred Years of Solitude is generally regarded as a

I wonder if the reward mechanisms factor in denying resources from the enemy team. A lot of the time it makes sense to take Roshan just so the enemy doesn't get the opportunity to.

As both a traditional sports fan and esports fan I agree that it can invoke the same responses. I see the "lack of physical skill" argument a lot and my typical argument against it is endurance and mental performance. Esports play

"Best" has been the default comment ranking for years. I'm not surprised that it eventually worked its way into the front page posts. How it differs from "Hot" though is not clear to me. Maybe they try harder to sho

I've just recently started enjoying olives and have only been eating them on their own. Hadn't thought of putting them in my eggs. Fish Veracruz looks tasty, thanks for the suggestion!

I'm definitely interested in giving it a try. Do you know if the Pi kit they are using is sold as a complete package somewhere? I found a list of components in the Assignment 0 description, but that's it.

Watch True Detective Season 1 if you haven't already. McConaughey and Woody Harrelson both put on amazing performances.

INTERSTELLAR SPOILERS The scene where Cooper comes back from the time-dilated planet and has years of messages to catch up on really makes me emotional. McConaughey really kills it in this movie.

Related: I've been looking for a good solution to voice synthesis with style transfer. One obstacle many potential Fallout 4 mods will face is that the protagonist is fully voiced. Imagine a mod author being able to create new voice li

The happiest you've been is taking a 7 month road trip vacation? That's not really surprising or novel. Most people feel relaxed, happy and free when they have nothing tying them down (whether or not technology is in the picture).
