There must be a large vision for something down the road given the partnership list and that the application is effectively frivolous. They solved 12m pedestrian bridges a long time ago.

Whenever my internet goes out I start tinkering on random things that almost immediately require internet searches to make progress. I also seem to forget the internet is out and continually open up search windows for all the new exciting

I wonder if you could significantly increase the qubits required by layering or interleaving cryptographic functions. By interleaving I almost imagine something like an AES algorithm where the rotated bits actually reference new keys and ci

I've been on a linux desktop for several years now. I use a VM for any windows dev I have to do. I should have made the switch sooner. Consider that instead of windows.

I wonder if an argument could be made that this violates the 4th amendment right to be free from unseasonable search. Collecting your travel movements automatically without cause might apply. It is an interesting problem because there is

The cell phone analogy is appropriate. This is first generation tech. Within 30 years it will be amazing and unobtrusive. Think eyeglasses or contact lenses with photo realistic rendering. I think it will be as important as the radio an

Horrifying. The entire legal system is supposed to be based on the concept that it is better to let the guilty walk than destroy an innocent person. Instead of evidence they used federal agents as expert witnesses providing evidence free

One of the best tricks I used growing up was doing 10 pushups every time I died in games like counterstrike. The increased blood flow to the brain slightly increases your intelligence and decreases response times. It also acted as a gate

This feels like someone discovered that multitasking doesn't really work (some studies show it causes brain damage). I've grown to hate multitasking. Do not try to design your project while building it. Do not try to understand

I imagine there are actual use cases for it but what are programs doing spinning up thousands of threads? I've never seen a program like that. Whatever happened to worker thread pools?

This is this is similar to all the backdoored Cisco devices the FBI found all over the government. If they are doing it at all they would have a complex plan and this would be one of the many approaches. Even scarier IMHO are the CPU fabr

Something isn't quite right. Nim 'compiles' into C code ready for compilation. It should not be faster than the raw C and C++ implementation. Frankly even the C/C++ implementation shouldn't be so different.

I'm a talented programmer but wasn't always so. The most important thing I ever learned was how to plan a program into abstract components that are as isolated as possible BEFORE ever touching any code. If you plan an abstract hi

You can partially thank the media for this. They like to sway opinion on issues for profit. Look at all the cartoons and TV shows and movies from the 80's and 90's demonizing Arabs to make way for the endless middle east wars. T

Motorcycle dragsters know not raise their torso off the bike around 120+ mph. Your body acts like a sail and you go flying off the bike. The high speed accidental dismounts in this sport will be interesting to watch.
