That is a funny story. I used to dial into BBS' with modem commands. You could learn the screech patterns pretty well to know if something goofed before the computer did. Modem command sets are still quite prolific and if you ever

I hate to admit I only got into this after the EDA software and PCB fab services and Youtube soldering demos really hit the scene. I am a long time software engineer and it took the current ease of things to surpass my laziness barrier. I

China is the 9 day shipping component. I use JLCPCB most and SeedStudio because depending on the features each has their own pricing benefit. If you are comfortable with a paste syringe and the component count is small you can skip the st

Pro tip: There are enough PCB shops now that small designs like this can just be done in free EDA software in minutes, 10 boards in your hand with a stencil 9 real days later for less than $50 shipped. The stencil lets you paste the board

If security was private the companies involved could do it however they wanted, including using AI to profile. The TSA was created not for security but to shield the airlines from liability, and also a bit as a jobs program. In those regard

I assume the OP has to be making about at least $130k salary, approximately $200k in total compensation. That gives 42 years at the current lifestyle at a lifespan of 85 years. That assumes wages track inflation. Lifespan should be highe

I see what you are saying. I mean zero as null constant. I've never even seen anyone try to assign a null value with some integer zero at some memory address. Using the NULL constant in C/C++ is near effortless and 0 just works

I disagree. nullptr is directly convertable to a boolean 0: #include <stdio.h> int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { printf("%d\n", nullptr == 0); return 0; }

Stabilize as in not so volatile. You could have a 1% deflation rate per year and that would be much more stable than the USD.

And it is directly convertible to a bool. The primary effectiveness seems to be with operator overloading where a NULL could trigger an integer method instead of a pointer method.

Nulls in strongly typed languages can get rather weird but from a C/C++ perspective it is the same as 0. nullptr is just a correctly casted 0.

Interestingly if you are doing a standard height four layer stack up with something like signal-power-ground-signal your stripline is much closer to the plane and default trace widths have a natural impedance much closer to what you want.

I love the RAM layout, a great benefit of being able to pick your pin layout on an FPGA. If you can do that it is a no brainer, but in general you don't really have to worry about routing your 100MHz RAM so carefully. That is pretty
