WellsFargo does that. Important notification and advert-BS on the same channel. If you block their notifications you don't get the near-real-time Zelle alert. Enabled you get what you want and also YOU MIGHT BE PRE-APPROVED!

The claims you make about Go/React are similar to the claims made by PHP and Python and JS users. Basically: the thing I'm familiar with is easy - then imply that it would be the same level of easy for others. This does look easie

Windows still (well, Win2000) lets you build a custom shell, just replace explorer.exe (and a bunch of other work).

I view it as new paint on same crappy house. They had to do the open-source thing for .NET because of external pressure - not because they've changed. They had to get GitHub because of the eyeballs. It's not some altruistic play.

Yet again I'm asking folk to look at this artifact mirror that was Show HN a few months ago. https://github.com/artifact-keeper It's currently my favourite package gate keeper - after a few years of self-built jan

How? Their sign-up flow would have to change dramatically. It might even become a process that is internally "expensive". There is likely one or more managers in charge of this decision and they don't want it. Additionally th

I love the sibling response from @jp... Also, IME we don't deep dive everything (should we?) For most stuff we make sure the latest is not-shit and passed test cases. We do have ceremony around version bumps.

I want that too. Most of these tours interfere. A pattern I like is just a little dot indicator where the new thing is. It's not in the way. But if I click the dot, or it's menu item, then I see the tour. Don't get in my face

It's easy-ish to verify someone is human and of-age without needing any intrusive agent. One big problem is that the folk pushing for surveillance via verification hate that model and have capital to crush the idea. Another is adoption

IMO a big disservice to the universe has been done with the recurring revenue drive. Many services could/should offer a one-shot option, with the highest margin. Somehow the world got stuck on SaaS model so hard that one off is complet
