> how can a 20-something person go out and start a company Short answer: they never had personal financial hardship to begin with. There's always exceptions, but the most frequent trait among young startup founders is that they have

To be fair, there aren't even really great experiences to be had with a good android tablet. The OS and app ecosystem simply isn't good enough for big screens.

Simply put, the ocean is a massive place with so many factors at play (like underwater currents bringing in cold water), that the heat generated by a ton of small "micro" datacenters will be pretty inconsequential.

So I'm supposed to trust an anecdotal "everyone actually uses AWS" comment over an official earnings report?

I love the idea, but is the ability to display gifs really all that important in the context of what they intend this to be used for?

Maybe I'm in the minority, because coffee to me is something I drink when I'm taking a break from work, or enjoying extended leisure time. The idea of never leaving my desk and having some lukewarm Starbucks drip delivered to me

Except Wikiwand isn't a Wikipedia redesign. It's explicitly a Wikipedia reader , and even advertises itself in that way.

I don't think it's really about that, especially because getting most of the pie doesn't really matter if your business collapses a year later, or users move on because they got bored with the product or service. I think it&#

I'm not sure that blog post is really applicable. It's shunning the idea of using designer tools to generate mockups of Wikipedia which focus on eye candy at the expense of content. That's not really what's going on wi

The listed specific pitfalls aren't about taking a bet. They're pretty clearly elements of incompetence. I wouldn't call nonpayment of taxes or living too high for the business taking a bet on a strategy unless that strateg

This brings up an interesting problem to solve: How to tell if something is a "real" contributor rather than someone who sends the occasional spelling fix. I imagine recruiters would be interested in some way to easily tell this.
