why the downvoting? I implemented this and did the experiments. That the photo blur is harder to control when you use the volume button to activate the shutter isn't my untested opinion.

also, something no one bothers pointing out - atleast it's the case with first two generations of iphone - taking a photo with the volume button causes the user to move the camera and results in an out-of-focus image. I can't imagine the au

It looks like we are approaching the end of Moore's law. Heat is making it impossible to add additional transistors into CPUs and GPUs and the end result is that today’s computer technology is about as fast as silicon transistors can go. F

Final pro-startup caveat: If you find the right people to work with, join a startup. You're only 20, and you're not short on cash. There might never be a better time. Really agree with this. There's two things you should know which you mi

I'm sure, like most rules, it's mostly just a guideline to handle the common case. People have all kinds of circumstances in life, so drawing the line on an age is often something that can be explained through. As a totally unrelated exampl

I don't know what the price of time is, but from my own experience I can say that it's quite high. This comment reminded me of the Chekhov short story The Bet - http://www.eastoftheweb.com/short-stories/UBooks/Bet.shtml If you reversed th

I'm not sure what the writer meant by segmentation, but for what it's worth, based on what I've seen mturk workers aren't really equally distributed across the world. From my own observation, a large majority of the workers are in India.

Oracle has to acquire companies. It's the only way it manages to grow its revenue. As far as it's core products go, it already sells licenses to almost all the Fortune 500's. If you're selling to everyone it's tough to find new customers...

Great explanation. The only shortcoming, or maybe not, is that he could have pointed out that the parallel he drew is true for anyone that specializes and transcends towards ideas rather than frets mechanics of a field. I'm much this way ab

I'm sure some do, but YC is already in the news heavily. If you look at it as 80/20, I doubt 80% of the people first learn about YC through HN.
