Is your email not a tool since you likely pay some cloud provider for it and the way it works is largely outside your control? Something can be a SaaS, and a useful tool, at the same time.

In fact, my estimates are that 100% of popular dotfiles repos are public.

You can install pre built binaries if you are not concerned about developing new features.

And API is just a set of functions and types that determine an interface. I fully believe an LLM is better at creating APIs than most programmers.

In my case most of my regex is for utility scripts for text processing. That means that I just run the script, and if it does what I want it to do I know I'm done. LLMs have been amazing in my experience putting together awk scripts or

I know regex. But I use it so sparingly that every time I need it I forgot again the character for word boundary, or the character for whitespace, or the exact incantation for negative lookahead. Is it >!? who knows. A shortcut to type i

You'd use feature flags to enable certain parts of the library.

The cool thing about rust is you can implement async yourself. You aren't tied to any specific implementation.

But if then you write to that memory through a int pointer the effective type is int. Unlike if you would have allocated the struct in the stack.

Well ethics aren't absolute. If it wasn't this way we would be stuck with a set of rules for all eternity, even when deemed incorrect at a later point.

In my server I hooked up a sound alarm to a set of capacitors. Too low of a charge indicates higher power consumption than production, allowing you to unplug certain low priority loads. I also have some emergency coal generators ready to go

You can always break out of the too rusty side and use unsafe tastefully. UnsafeCell I find particularly useful to exponentially decrease the amount of boilerplate needed to convince the compiler that your code is safe.

I tried really hard to see the "redgreen", but it just felt like an occlusion bug when two 3d objects have the exact same z layer and fight to render on top of the other.

Yeah, and while you are at it drop the types and just use normal assembly, that way you won't even have UB!

Even if all clients are truthful and 100% correct, the lack of counter examples would still be essentially meaningless, right?

How so? I'd really like to see an example. If you can't explain what requirements your function has before calling it then how do you know it even does what you expect?

I really wish templates didn't work on a dumb "replace at call site until something compiles" manner. All template requirements should be verified at the function definition, not at every call site. There is concepts. But the

It's just a different kind of data. Even without LLMs, sometimes I want a tutorial, sometimes I want the raw API specification. For some cases I absolutely prefer an LLM, like discoverability of certain language features or toolkits. B

The only thing I ever miss from C++ is a way of guaranteeing that some code is run at every exit path of a function. I guess this is why zig became so popular among C developers.

I disagree. The spherical cow of marketing is a system that connects consumers with EXACTLY what they are looking for. What you are describing is the capitalist spherical cow.
