The amount of knowledge I have and the amount of stuff learned at school is probably just two different circles, and I'm still in college. Honestly, school has done nothing to me other than provide socialization opportunities.

Free as in beer, as when one refers to 'free beer' it's one that you don't pay for. When one says 'free speech' it's one that allows you to do what you want. Former is gratis, latter is libre.

I hate this kind of thought, if we go for his definition, literally every single application could be made '100% modular' by converting every single function into its own service, but instead of an ABI like stdcall you get an ABI

You can still 100% just use whatever language and build a library, instead of sending json or binary data through network calls, you just use FFI.

But is there a difference ? You can have a monolith and still develop in independent enough components. No need for a complex infrastructure if all you want is modularized code.

It's clearly an exaggeration, but whenever any program wants me to click and drag stuff I immediately feel the struggle. The same reason I hate tools like unity where instead of simply typing my logic and data, one has to navigate menu

I'm gonna be honest, my mind got bored in the long sentence and completely skipped like half the words. I think I'm just too used to reading documentation and skipping 50% of the words so I can see how to do something quicker.

The tips are great but I think it misses a key point (which could be deduced from the other points). _Learn how to learn_. By improving the way we can learn, we are sure to have a easier time in the future. For me this means a couple of thi

Isn't the whole essence of software that we are lazy? And so we write code so we don't do stuff ourselves? Nothing wrong with being lazy if it gets things done, right?

There's this language called zig, and there errors are represented as union values and have this kind of syntax to work with but way more explicit, really like the idea of how they do it.

What about actually using early returns ? I feel like the implicitness of exceptions is more of a downside than an advantage def handle(request): if !validate_signature(request): return 400 if !check_authorization(request)

So maybe we need the opposite, a completely authoritarian and centralized way of handling internet services. Imagine if there was a single mail service, provider and client, handling all possible uses cases, a single web browser, etc. Its l
