Not true for a variety of reasons: 1. You're relying on the external service to continue providing the export functionality, or else doing regular backups. 2. The format of the exports might be proprietary, so it might be orders of mag

True, but the format is still text. In a "catastrophe", you can always just a) ignore these, or b) write custom code to process them (e.g. port the plugin to VSCode or whatever). Still far better than a proprietary format.

I've never used it, but my understanding is that something that does this is considered a "killer feature" of Supermemo. It has a mode that lets you read text (via a PDF viewer) and lets you create flashcards as you read in s

Your original comment argued there is no value add. I gave an example of the kind of value add that you can get (saving money/time on following up something wrong). I did not advocate for this specific release being better, and I certa

When I say "I don't know", it means I genuinely don't know. Obviously, since this is a new technology, it's possible that it is better than doing arbitrary things like saying that people shouldn't fill out

I mean, I've been a professional developer now for more than 20 years, and it started with learning QBasic from a book and then building stuff with Visual Basic. So VB was literally life-changing for me. I even bought (and still have s

Amazing! I learned QBasic when I was 12, then moved on to Visual Basic when I was 13. It was such an amazing experience! I'm one of the many people who still wish we had anything anywhere near as good today in terms of creating GUIs. I

I said "pretty much". The homelessness crisis in, say, the US, affects a relatively small portion of the population; from quick looking up figures, it's less than 1% of the population. I'm no expert on any of this, but a

I really don't understand how people can write entire articles which can be disproven with an hour of work. This is like writing a long polemic on how AIs will never be able to play Chess because of... reasons... four years after Deep

I had a similar situation - I once wanted to grab some web pages and parse them in Python, and was going to use Python's built-in libraries for that, and use BeautifulSoup to parse them. But then I realized I'd have to read enormo
