How do you stop Claude/opex from pushing or pulling without you asking?

“ and push commits” Am I the only person who insists on writing my password every time I push and pull from git? Originally I didn’t want IDE’s doing stuff for me, now I absolutely do not want an LLM to have that power. Is it really that un

Yeah, what better marketing than the US government thinks it is too powerful? [edit: don’t forget my previous tin foil hat note, I’m not overly serious about this]

Attention is like a limited amount, you start the day with 100 tokens, scrolling tick-tock for an hour? 25 tokens, deep working for an hour? 25 tokens - what do you have left to do and how many tokens does it take? I’m trying more and more

My tin foil hat version of myself says it is because the whole thing is a marketing stunt and certain members of the administration are getting kick backs for it.

I think it will end up a game of haves and have nots - governments and companies with spare cash will go large and capitalise on the benefits of ai, everyone else will be left behind

>> No one was really entering credit cards on web pages. Any webpage that needed a credit card number we would use a generator which worked about 50% of the time

Won’t all they need to do is say “best in class, latest models, fastest” and wine and dine a few execs and those enterprise deals will be signed? In this case the people tasked with using the product won’t actually mind.

I enjoyed it, people post on blogs as a way to entertain themselves, not necessarily the reader.

They do, he said at the end if you have a support contract then they will respond and deal with security issues. I guess the whole point of the article is to show that people should buy a support contract if they need support.

If Anthropic are then they are making a big mistake, their token hungry Claude code is far too greedy

It all sounds a bit too marketing-ey to me “we have this amazing model that is too good to release” but the goal is still AGI? Ok right.

Why don’t you think I get value from Claude? I’m getting far more value from Claude than I am paying, this week I’ve completed a couple of projects that would have taken a person months and months to do.

I think part of the problem is that it is such a generic catch all term: - AI will replace all workers (unlikely today) - AI speeds up programming (yes today)

I’ve been programming for 25 years, I’d struggle to think of a scenario where I’m faster writing code manually than prompting ai to do it [edit 25 years not 20]

Hmm interesting, my gut is that i'm not against it. I think in reality it does happen (take a look at Lucas Paqueta in UK soccer) so may as well accept it - you'll never know who has more to lose (win) a player betting their side

I think that we are agreeing here, there should be regulation on the government side and laws without regulating what people can bet on.

I'm not a polymarket gambler or a gambler at all really, so I have no skin in this game but why does it have to be fair? I would say casinos and slot machines are already stealing from the poor and giving to the rich and already a scam

Does it need to be regulated? This isn’t pension funds placing bets risking people’s investment money. People using Polymarket are gambling on pretty random things and must understand the risk , whether it is on major geopolitical events or
