This is true for things that are connected to the network anyway. It is not true for unconnected devices controlled by Bluetooth. The gratuitous app login is straightforwardly malign.

If you have a genuine choice of steal or starve, even then you won't necessarily steal food. You might steal whatever is easiest to and sell it to buy food.

Completely agree. Also, get a hob with physical knobs rather than touch controls. Not as pretty but much less frustrating.

In the unlikely event this succeeds you'll need to provide address or bank details to someone (most likely Facebook) in order to get paid. No thank you.

To get complete whois information you need to query the registrar. Whether the whois or DNS is the most up-to-date source for the authoritative DNS servers for a domain seems like an implementation detail at the registrar rather than someth

If the professor had a secretary it's possible he never saw the email. Some employees like to bask in the reflected glow of their boss's high status (as they see it) and are very sensitive to perceived slights.

The startup/shutdown code is for the C runtime. If you avoid the C runtime you don't need it.

A large proportion of the spam that makes it into my gmail inbox is from American politicians and I'm not even American. They are indeed part of the problem.

Absolutely. The only way we can be sure that this will be fixed by 2036 is by introducing a new NTP version that doesn't have this problem. Anything running the current version (which could be seen on the wire) would be considered brok
