I'm trying to think in the other (wrong) direction. If we can't escape funding things with advertising the document format can be improved to facilitate what people are trying to build. If each page view needs to be a full multipl

Not entirely on topic: If pot is illegal people will grow extremely potent variaties. If it's normal you get very tasty variaties that give a mild buzz even if you smoke pure joints all day. It's like comparing a casual light beer

I'm happy the old icons are still available. I consider the flat icons (by default) a bad idea because one can't use them with peripheral vision. Even after getting used to them i have to look much longer to see which does what.

Very impressive effort. He mentions so many cool ideas. I really like the drop-down with what you want on the toolbar. Good way to unclutter the settings menu. I wonder what would be a good way to visualize settings the user changed (and ch

I use to have a routine with a friend where we paid close attention to the table manners of his wealthy upper class relatives. Then when they did something wrong we would point it out loudly as if it was the end of the world. Best was 3+ mi

I once see someone's chopsticks taken away from them and replaced with a knife and fork. I've always wondered what they did wrong. Now I see they probably covered half this list. Haha

I've never been sentenced to repeating myself. I'm sure people normally hope for improvements in silence without informing me. Thanks! The general point was that "Improvement" that ruin muscle memory usually aren't.

That might be what they think. I just installed windows and it had countless dialogs. Most have a reason to exist but it's a lot of work. The Ubuntu live usb on the other hand just boots into the desktop environment. It just works? The

If you have two candidate ui designs you pick the best of the two. If you have an established ui and a candidate the new design needs to be dramatically better. It has to scream superiority. If it isn't that you are just ruining ux. I

In some review of a super cheap Chinese car people kept endlessly repeating how it had real buttons on the dashboard. The doors had electric locks which I thought was disappointing. Imagine a car door that can be opened after an accident or

I was comparing the lawless freedom of the darkweb with lawless society. They really seem one and the same. In contrast the conventional internet has surprisingly little overlap with conventional society. Not sure which historic dystopian s

Education is a weird field with perhaps a few thousand years of very good unimplemented ideas. Imagine training an llm by putting it in a room with other untrained LLMs? All that knowledge is sure to rubb of!

The thing that bothered me, say there are 5 topics that need pages but only one has this huge growth in articles. Like say discography vs books on Wikipedia.

We lack much vocabulary in this new situation. Not that I have words for it but to paint the picture: if I hang out with people sharing some quality I tend to assume it's there in others and treat them as such. LLMs might not be people
